College of the Mainland Adult Education receives honors

For the second straight year, the College of the Mainland received gold level recognition by the Texas Association for Literacy and Adult Education for meeting all performance measures for 2010-11 in adult education and EL civics.

According to a press release, there are 11 different cohorts based on ability level, with six for ESL and five for GED. COM serves more than 1,900 students through these programs.

“We are really proud to once again receive recognition for the hard work and accomplishments of our students and faculty,” COM Director of Adult Education Joshua Hayes said in a press release. “The dedication and achievement of our students is a credit to themselves, their families and our community.”
