League City receives United Way Spirit of Caring Award
League City's barbecue fundraiser brought in more than $1,200 for the United Way of Galveston and was recognized for this contribution Feb. 15 at United Way's annual Spirit of the Mainland's award ceremony.
Employees of League City earned the award when they opted to have a barbecue fundraiser to benefit the United Way instead of its usual Thanksgiving luncheon. Employees cooked, served and baked for the cause, and employees and elected officials from through the city attended, purchasing meals to benefit the United Way of Galveston County Mainland's 31 partner agencies.
