The Houston Press picked the New Year's Eve bash at Clear Lake's Scout bar, 18307 Egret Bay Blvd., as one its three best things to do around Houston tonight. The rock club has lined up four bands: The Hunger, Saturate, Erase The Virus, and From Guts to Glory. There's a free champagne toast at midnight, too. Get details.

The Bay Area Citizen gives a shout-out to New Year's celebrations planned at Cullen's, South Shore Harbour Resort, Bailey's and The Admiral on Clear Lake. Get details.
