League City celebrates 50 years

League City will host a "50th Golden Birthday Party" from noon to 4 p.m. March 3 in League Park.

The event will feature a chili cook-off, performances by local musical groups, a community art heritage tree, interactive fun provided by local nonprofit organizations, food and beverage booths, face painting and birthday cake.

Admission is free. There will be fees for festival food and beverages.

Portions of the proceeds will go to local nonprofit organizations serving the League City and Galveston County areas.
