Nurse supervisor from Clear Lake sued over alleged workplace injury
A hospital employee is suing over claims his supervisor failed to help after he suffered a collapsed lung at work.
Reginald Reed filed a lawsuit on Feb. 13 in the Harris County District Court against All About Staffing, Bayshore Medical Center, and Clear Lake resident Mariakutty Yohannan, citing negligence.
Reed, an employee of the defendants, says on Feb. 13, 2010, he sustained a partially collapsed lung while attempting to lift and move a patient at Bayshore Medical Center. He reported the injury to Yohannan, his supervisor, but she dismissed his complaint and demanded he finish his shift, according to the brief.
The suit alleges Reed’s condition continued to deteriorate and by the time he clocked out he required emergency surgery because his entire lung had collapsed.
Reed is seeking actual and exemplary damages, as well as court costs. He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Ryan Gross.
