Galveston Historical Foundation to hold annual sacred places tour
The Galveston Historical Foundation will present its 16th annual sacred places tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 25.
Stops on the tour include St. Joseph's, at 2202 Avenue K; the First Baptist Church, at 822 23rd St.; St. Augustine of Hippo Episcopal Church, at 1410 41st St.; and St. Patrick's Catholic Church, at 1010 35th St.
The tour benefits GHFs restoration of St. Joseph's Church, the oldest wooden church building in Galveston and the oldest German Catholic church in Texas, according to a press release. The tour will cover a range of religious traditions and buildings styles.
Advanced tickets cost $10. Tickets can be purchased on the day of the event for $12 at St. Joseph's Church.
