Looking to get rid of your Christmas tree?
If you're a Houston resident, you've already missed the Ellington Airport dropoff, and you'll have to wait until your once-a-month heavy-trash pickup day. Houston alternates between picking up tree waste and junk waste each month, and this month is tree waste. The pickup is not on your regular trash day, so be sure to look up the schedule for your ZIP code. You can legally put your tree waste out by the curb at 6 p.m. the Friday before your scheduled pickup day.
League City residents can still drop off their trees at the city's recycling center, 1535 Dickinson Avenue. The center is open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday the rest of the month.
A couple of other tree-recycling programs:
Brazoria County
