League City business accused of poaching clients
A Montrose mural company is suing over claims its former lead artist breached his employment agreement by plotting to start a competing business.
Sebastien Boileau, doing business in Montrose as Eyeful Art Murals and Designs, filed a lawsuit on Feb. 3 in Harris County District Court against Jason Patterson, doing business in League City as Patterson Designs, and Michael Tobin, citing unfair advantage and competition, breach of contract, conversion and breach of fiduciary duties, among other things.
Boileau says Patterson used his position as lead artist with Eyeful Art to steal proprietary information from the company, including client lists, design requirements of clients and artwork. According to the brief, Patterson took this information to start a company in direct competition with Eyeful Art.
Boileau is seeking injunctive relief, as well as damages, attorney's fees and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Kevin Kennedy.
