Budweiser Clydesdales to take part in Mardi Gras celebration
Del Papa Distributing Company is bringing the Budweiser Clydesdales to Galveston and Kemah for Mardi Gras.
The famous clydesdales will be in the area from Feb. 8 through Feb. 12. They will be housed at the Galveston County Fairgrounds and make the following appearances during their stay:
From 4-7 p.m. on Feb. 8, they will be at the Strand Historic District in Galveston.
On Feb. 9, they will be in various locations around Kemah, delivering beer to certain retailers and hanging out at the boardwalk from 4-7 p.m.
From 4-7 p.m. on Feb. 10, they will lead the George P. Mittchell parade in the Strand Historic District.
From 5-7p.m. on Feb. 11, they will lead the Gambrinus Parade at the Seawall in Galveston.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb .12, the horses will lead the Sunshine Kids Parade in the Strand Historic District.
"We are proud to welcome back the Budweiser Clydesdales, a well-known symbol of the annual Mardi Gras festivities here in Galveston," Larry Del Papa, president of Del Papa Distributing Company, said in a press release.
The public is invited to see the horses and take pictures with them.
