Residents asked to share ideas for the future

Residents, businesses, nonprofits, schools and more of the Houston-Galveston area are being asked to share their ideas for the future of the area.

This request comes as part of an effort to create a plan for the 13-county aream which includes Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Liberty, Harris, Matagorda, Montgomery, Walker, Waller and Wharton counties.

This request is the first step in a planning project that is expected to take two years. Officials hope it will answer questions about where residents will live, how to best help them move around the region and how the quality of life may change.

Residents will be able to provide their own opinions and feedback regarding the area during public meetings that will be held over the next two months. These Community Visioning sessions will begin in February.

Interested individuals are asked to join Community Ambassador Teams. These groups will help inform residents about how the project is progressing.
