U.S. Sen. John Cornyn to receive the 2012 Quasar Award

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn will be honored with the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership's 2012 Quasar Award on Friday, Jan 20.

The award is presented each year to an individual who has contributed to the economic wealth and diversity of the Bay Area Houston region.

Cornyn was first elected to the Senate in 2002 and previously served in Texas as a district judge, a member of the Texas Supreme Court and as Texas attorney general.

Cornyn will receive the award at the annual Quasar Award Banquet at 6:30 p.m. at the South Shore Harbour Resort and Conference Center, located at 2500 South Shore Blvd. in League City.
