Girls HS volleyball playoffs: Clear Creek defeats Kempner
Clear Creek swept Kempner in the opening round of 5A Bi-district girls high school volleyball playoff action on Tuesday, although all three games were decided by four points or less.
The win ups the Wildcats to 27-15 on the season and 12-2 in district play. Clear Creek won the match in three games (25-21, 25-23, 25-22), led by Ashley Smith, who recorded 28 kills in the match.
The Cougars finish their season at 19-16 and 12-6 in district play.
Jamie Vest had a fine season, leading her team with an average of 3.33 kills per game.
