Don't let your holiday cheer be stolen

With the holiday shopping season set to kick in to full gear Friday, the Galveston County Auto Crimes Task Force is reminding shoppers to beware of car thieves and burglars.
The task force will be conducting high visibility patrols in busy shopping areas during the holiday season, but is also urging shoppers to lock their vehicles, take their keys, and hide their belongings. Its motto about car thieves and burglars is Where You Are, They Are."
The task force is also encouraging local businesses to inquire about the free parking lot warning signs that are available. Those interested in more information about protecting yourself or obtaining warning signs should call 409-766-4500.
