League City's FM 2094 needs new traffic signal

A Texas Department of Transportation study has determined that a traffic signal is warranted at FM 2094 and Twin Oaks Boulevard in League City, but one won't be installed at the intersection for now.
According to the study, a new traffic signal at FM 2094 and Twin Oaks Boulevard would be too close to the existing traffic signal at FM 2094 and Enterprise Avenue and negatively impact traffic flow. The signal at Enterprise Avenue is just 800 feet west of FM 2094 and Twin Oaks Boulevard.
The study mentions the possibility of combining the signal at Enterprise Avenue and the one needed at Twin Oaks Boulevard at a new location such as Lakeside Drive and FM 2094.
But that would only be possible if access could be provided to Lakeside Drive from both Enterprise Avenue and from Twin Oaks Boulevard north of FM 2094, according to the study. It also mentions the possibility of a traffic signal that would serve all three locations.
The study recommends evaluating that option, but it would require the acquisition of right-of-way and/or the dedication of land for a new street north of FM 2094 that would connect all three as well as the removal of the traffic signal at Enterprise Avenue.
The study also recommends re-evaluating the existing traffic signal at Enterprise Avenue to determine if it can be relocated to Twin Oaks Boulevard.
Earlier this month, City Council approved a resolution in support of the traffic study. Mayor Toni Randall said she is pleased that TxDOT opted not to install a new traffic signal at FM 2094 and Twin Oaks Boulevard for now.
I'm glad it didn't happen," Randall said. It would have been just another stopping point."
But Randall said she does support a new traffic signal on FM 2094 that would address Twin Oaks Boulevard, Enterprise Drive and Lakeside Drive.
Not every side street ought to have a darn light," she said. Come on, people have got to pay attention."
