Space Center offers 'camp-ins' for Scouts
The Space Center is offering Out-of-This-World camps to give scouts a chance to explore space and learn after hours.
At the camp students will learn from enthusiastic educators and engage in hands-on activities throughout the Space Center. There are a variety of camp-in options that are designed for different ages. Whether the scouts are wolves or brownies, the Space Center is committed to providing a positive learning experience to all.
The camp-in will also feature some new activities. Scuba Camp will give scouts a chance to experience weightlessness and earn NAUI open water certification. Scouts will dive for two days while they explore underwater environments. The camp costs $299.95 until 2012.
The camp-in costs $55 per scout and $25 per adult, and includes dinner at the Space Center, a free second day at the center, film screenings and a private tour of the Johnson Space Center.
The Space Center is located at 1601 NASA Parkway. For more information and registration, call 281-283-4755, email reservations@spacecenter.org or visit www.spacecenter.org/ScoutCampIns.html.
