Friendswood High's Wranglerettes score high at competition
The Friendswood High School Wranglerettes dance and social officers recently won multiple awards at the Crowd Pleasers Officer Camp.
For its home routine, the dance officers won a Superior Trophy, Outstanding Performance Award, Outstanding Technique Award and Outstanding Choreography Award.
Based on its overall evaluation scores, the officers qualified for the Elite Gold Officer Group designation. And, the team was in the top 10 officer group for overall evaluations scores, placing third overall.
All four of the dance officers -- Alyssa Waller, Emily Cain, Kayla Petersen and Kayla Cox -- were named as finalists in the Super Star Dancer competition. Waller and Petersen were named “Super Star Dancers.”
The social officers were awarded the Overall Achievement Trophy, Most Outstanding and Most Creative Awards. The team was one of only three officer groups earning the Award of Excellence. The social officers were also voted as the Friendliest, and on the first day of camp, the team was voted Most Admired social officer group by the other teams in attendance.
The Wranglerettes are under the direction of Kara Baker and Assistant Director Ashley Caterina.
