Clear Creek HS grad Shawn Blackwell moves to 3-0 on the season
Clear Creek High School graduate Shawn Blackwell struck out three in picking up the win on the hill for the Arizona League Rangers, 18-9, over the AZL Royals Tuesday.
Blackwell is a 2009 graduate of Clear Creek High School and a 24th-round selection (724th overall) of the Texas Rangers in the 2009 Major League Baseball draft.
Blackwell began his professional career in 2010 starting 13 games for the Rangers' rookie team of the Arizona Rangers. He went 6-3 with a 4.10 ERA in 59.1 innings. Blackwell was born Nov. 15, 1990, in League City.
