Drunken driver gets 12 years for fatal crash

A man who already had two drunken driving convictions on his record was been sentenced to 12 years in prison Friday for the August 2007 death of a Dickinson woman.

Testimony in his League City trial revealed Lester's blood-alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit hours after he crossed a median on FM 646 and collided with Donna Lee Banduch-Lawson just west of South Shore Boulevard.
