Kemah doctor's license revoked over pain pills

How much do you know about your doctor?
Today Houston Chronicle MedBloggers Cindy George and Todd Ackerman point out a Texas Medical Board Website that lets you check up on your doctor and see those who've been disciplined by the board recently.
Among the 77 disciplined when the board met most recently is one from the Clear Lake area:
Arroyo, Carlos, M.D., Lic. #F9148, Kemah TX
On November 6, 2009, the Board and Dr. Arroyo entered into an agreed order revoking his Texas medical license. He may petition the board for reinstatement after one year. The action was based on his prescribing controlled substances without adequate documentation, including medical rationale for drug therapy, and failing to comply with board rules related to treatment of 16 chronic pain patients.
The Bay Area Citizen reported that Arroyo had already lost his license once over accusations he smoked crack cocaine while practicing in Beaumont.
