Friendswood to hold 'Safe Sitter' class
The registration deadline is Wednesday, July 6, for the City of Friendswood's Safe Sitter course to be held Wednesday, July 13.
Enrollment is limited to 15 for the one-day Safe Sitter course, designed for girls and boys ages 11 to 13 and provided through Texas Children's Hospital.
This course teaches safe and nurturing child care techniques, behavior management skills and appropriate responses to medical emergencies. Students will role play, discuss and practice a variety of child care skills, including practical child care techniques, safety precautions, care of a choking child, recognizing emergencies, calling for emergency help and managing common problem behaviors.
The fee to attend is $35. The course is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 13 at Calvary Chapel Church.
