Reminder: fireworks prohibited in Friendswood
The Friendswood Fire Marshal's Office is reminding citizens that it is unlawful for any person to possess or discharge any fireworks within the city limits of Friendswood.
The Friendswood Fire Marshal's Office and the Friendswood Police Department will be issuing citations to anyone caught possessing or discharging fireworks.
The best way for people to enjoy fireworks is to visit the city's public fireworks display at the 2011 Friendswood Fourth of July Celebration, "One Nation, United We Stand," at Centennial Park. Professional, licensed pyrotechnicians will conduct this program and the Friendswood Volunteer Fire Department will be on standby during the display.
