Clear Creek ISD reports TAKS test scores

The Clear Creek Independent School District has released its preliminary 2010-11 TAKS scores, which are above the statewide passing rate across the board.

The Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) is a standardized test used in Texas primary and secondary schools to assess students' attainment of reading, writing, math, science and social studies skills required under Texas education standards.

“I am proud of our students and staff. The performance results and commended scores are significantly above the state average,” said Greg Smith, Superintendent of Schools, in the press release. “I often tell parents and community members the TAKS test is only one indicator of how we are doing as a school system and the true indicator of success is how we are preparing children for college and the workforce. Ninety-five percent of our students complete high schools, 91 percent of those students have plans for higher education, and a record number of students are receiving workforce certifications in nursing, culinary arts and more.”
