League City seeks contractor for asbestos and demolition work
The City of League City is accepting sealed bids until June 30 for an asbestos removal and interior demolition project at City Hall, 300 W. Walker St.
Up for bid is a contract to perform asbestos abatement and interior demolition of two stories of the 40-year-old building while protecting and maintaining the elevator system, structure, electrical feeds and exterior wall system.
The demolition is intended to return the 22,500-square-foot City Hall to "near shell condition" and includes a possible roof replacement. The city is working with architect PGAL of Houston and asbestos consultant EFI Global Inc. to complete the renovation.
A mandatory pre-bid conference and on-site walk-through is scheduled for June 21 at 2 p.m. at City Hall.
