Host families sought for exchange students
Friendswood resident Terri Corbett, the local area representative for World Heritage Student Exchange Programs, is looking for host families to welcome international high school students for the upcoming school year.
Host families provide the place to stay, meals and guidance for a teenager living thousands of miles from home. The screened exchange students arrive from their home country in August and they are fully insured, bring their own personal spending money and expect to bear their share of household responsibilities, as well as being included in normal family activities and events while attending the local high school.
The qualified students sponsored through World Heritage are 15 to 18 years old and come from France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Denmark, Italy and the former Soviet Republics.
World Heritage is a nonprofit organization officially designated as an exchange visitor program by the United States Department of State.
For those families that are interested, call Terri Corbett at 713-882-0699 or 1-800-888-9040 or visit www.world-heritage.org.
