Friendswood watering restrictions eased for the weekend, but in force Monday
Earlier this week, Friendswood citizens were asked to suspend outdoor watering through this weekend due to planned repairs to a damaged water line. The Public Works Department has announced that the repairs have been postponed until Monday.
As a result, city residents may use water this weekend in accordance with the city's voluntary outdoor watering limitations. Addresses ending in even numbers are asked to water on even numbered days, and addresses ending in odd numbers are asked to water on odd numbered days.
On Monday, as the damaged water line is repaired, Friendswoodians are asked to suspend all outdoor watering in order to maintain adequate pressure levels throughout the city. It is unknown at this time how long the repair will take. Updates will be available at the city's website, www.friendswood.com.
As the area enters the hurricane season, city officials are encouraging residents to register for news alerts. Visitors to the website may click "notify me" to sign up for alerts.
