$60K in grants goes to innovative Clear Creek teachers

The Clear Creek Education Foundation recently announced the names of this year's Teacher Innovative Grants recipients, who will each receive a portion of more than $60,000 for scholastic programs next school year.

According to the press release, the following teachers were chosen as this year's winners:

Tracy Arlington and Lauren Skarke of Clear Creek High School

Betty McCulloch of Clear Creek Intermediate

Gregory W. Smithey of Clear Lake Intermediate

Kaci Longoria of Clear Springs High School
Heather Wallace of Clear Springs High School

Amy L. Toland of Falcon Pass Elementary
Veronica Walker of Falcon Pass Elementary

Crista Sereni of Ross Elementary

Clay Barnett of Space Center Intermediate

The foundation plans to partner with businesses to offer specific grants throughout the year. As more cuts become necessary due to lower state funding levels, the foundation believes this could prove to be a vital and necessary strategy in assisting teachers in maintaining the high level of achievement in CCISD, according to the press release.

The Clear Creek Education Foundation has awarded over $900,000 in grants since its inception in 1992.
