Nassau Bay to swear in new police chief

A familiar name is set to be appointed as Nassau Bay's new police chief.
Police Lt. Joey Cashiola will be sworn in to the position this Wednesday during a 9 a.m. ceremony at City Hall, 18100 Upper Bay Road, City Manager Chris Reed said. He has been the city's interim police chief since former police chief Ron Wrobleski retired late last month.
Cashiola, 50, has worked for the city's police department for 28 years and has a master peace officer proficiency certificate. He will be paid an annual salary of $74,000.
Police department employees and residents have expressed their support for Cashiola to be police chief, Reed said.
Nassau Bay is a unique city," Reed said. Joey really knows how to police Nassau Bay. He knows what our residents expect."
