FJH principal selects, buys student art for school

Friendswood Junior High School principal, Dana Drew, recently purchased a piece of student art to decorate the walls in the school's main office.

Drew made a request earlier in the year to his art teachers for a piece and asked them to submit student work that would be judged with a winner singled out for the wall. The teachers submitted approximately 40 student pieces.

The winning selection was by Molly Chen. Drew purchased Chen's piece, with her parents' approval, and is having it professionally framed before hanging it in its new location.

The success of the process and selection has turned the search for student art into an annual competition.
