Clear Lake staffing agency accuses client of contract breach

A Clear Lake staffing agency is suing over claims a client breached their contract by failing to pay for the labor of temporary employees.

Certified Cos. Inc., of Clear Lake, filed a lawsuit on May 24 in Harris County District Court against Gonzales South Texas Electric Corp. and Robert Gonzales, alleging breach of contract and breach of guaranty agreement.

Certified Cos. says that on May 5, 2008, it agreed to supply Gonzales skilled temporary workers for his business. According to the brief, Gonzales breached their agreement by failing to pay Certified over $238,000 for the employees’ labor, as promised.

Certified Cos. is seeking damages in the amount of $238,017.02, attorney’s fees and court costs. It is being represented in the case by Houston attorney David Smith.
