A pair of dog pals, Ella and Scampi, are Pets of the Week at Second Chance Pets (SCP).

Ella is a quiet, calm red heeler, and Scampi is a fun and high-jumping rat terrier mix. They were rescued from the side of the road before a freeze this past winter. They're best friends and might suffer if separated, so SCP is offering the dogs at a two-for-one price of $125. Both dogs are crate-trained.

The pair is totally bonded. Scampi sleeps on top of Ella in the kennel if it's cold, and they both love to run and play outside or flop out in the grass and watch the birds.

SCP has other pets available for adoption, too. The animals are shown Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at PETCO Animal Supplies, 2410 Bay Area Blvd., and on the first and third Sundays of the month at the PetSmart by Baybrook Mall. Almost all SCP animals are fostered in local homes because it does not have a shelter.
