Julianna Rachel Berry of Clear Lake High School was recently selected to take part in the U.S. Naval Academy's Summer STEM Program.
The program is an overnight academic camp designed for eighth- and 11th-grade students in good academic standing who have an interest in math and science.
The program gives students the opportunity to experience real-life applications of math and science principles through hands-on practical learning. Students will learn from Naval Academy professors in world-class lab facilities that provide a learning environment outside the traditional classroom. Additionally, midshipmen that currently attend the academy will help run the Summer STEM Program and act as counselors and tutors to students.
Approximately 375 total students from around the U.S. have been accepted. All students selected to participate will receive a full scholarship to attend this academic summer program.
