UH-Clear Lake to host summer art classes for kids
Summer sessions for the University of Houston-Clear Lake's (UH-Clear Lake) Art School for children and young adults are now open for registration.
Classes begin on Monday, June 27, and run through Monday, July 25, for students from age 3 through high school age, including homeschooled students.
With a theme of “City Architects” that explores the work of artists and city architects and their contributions to society, students will discover the life and work of Frank Lloyd Wright, Louis Sullivan, Julia Morgan, Alexandre-Gustave Eiffel and others while expressing their own artistic creativity. The Art School offers instruction for all students in multiple art media, including drawing and painting.
Tuition ranges from $80 to $125, depending on the class and the child’s age. Registration can be submitted in the university’s Arbor Building, Room 159, Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Classes are offered in the university’s Arbor Building, Rooms 155 and 156, located at 2700 Bay Area Blvd.
