Clear Lake dog walk raises over $20K to help kids with cancer
The Jori Zemel Children's Bone Cancer Foundation's (JZCBCF) second annual Paws for a Cause Dog Walk at the University of Houston raised over $20,000.
Overcast skies and wind gusts up to 23 mph didn't deter over 300 walkers and dogs from participating in the fundraising event.
"We were thrilled to have such outstanding support from our community and are touched by the generosity of so many people," said Stephanie Gumpf, executive director of JZCBCF. "The event generated nearly $22,000 to support the organization's goal to eradicate children's bone cancer."
Corporate underwriters of the event included The Gabriel Institute, Valco Instruments, Blanca Duran Photography, One Stop Party Shop, Rick Tinker Insurance and DoodyCalls of Houston.
The Jori Zemel Children's Bone Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating, funding research, and providing support for the children and families affected by bone cancer. To learn more about JZCBCF, go to www.jorizemel.com/home.
