Power restored to Clear Lake [updated]
About 35,000 customers of Texas New Mexico Power lost electricity this afternoon in the Clear Lake area.
Texas New Mexico Power said the outages started just after noon and lasted 60 to 90 minutes, primarily in League City, Friendswood and Alvin.
The company said something went wrong while a main transmission line in League City was undergoing maintenance.
TNMP is considered a "wire company" that runs power lines to customers' houses and reads meters, but it's not the retail provider that sends customers their bills each month.
