Friendswood Police report two unusual attacks over weekend

Friendswood police this weekend arrested one man accused of punching a
soccer opponent, and another accused of running over someone's foot.

On Friday at about 8:20 p.m., two men flagged down an officer patrolling in
Centennial Park to report that a man had just punched one of them in the
face during a soccer game.

"It was related to the game and was during the game," says Friendswood
Police spokesperson Officer Lisa Price. "The man who was arrested observed
what he thought was the victim making an aggressive move towards another one
of his team players, and then he approached him and punched him in the
face."

Bryan Patrick Morgan, 37, of Houston, was charged with assault by contact in
the incident. Police also noted he received a "red card" from the referee
and was ejected from the game prior to his arrest. A mug shot shows Bryan
still wearing a soccer jersey.

On Sunday at about 2 a.m., Friendswood police arrested Hector Omar Alba, 24,
of Pearland, on a disorderly-conduct charge. According to a police press
release, a homeowner in the 3100 block of Autumn Leaf drive approached a
parked vehicle and saw the vehicle's occupants "engaged in sexual activity."

The homeowner told police that he argued with Alba, and that Alba then
"flipped the bird" at him and drove over his foot. Police could not provide
additional detail on the altercation as of Monday afternoon.
