Kemah plans new Citizens Police Academy class

The Kemah Police Department and the Kemah Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association recently announced a new Citizens Police Academy Class.

The class will begin Feb. 29 and meets every Wednesday night until May 23. The classes will start at 7 p.m. and end at 9 p.m. Most classes will be conducted at City Hall, located at 1401 Texas 146.

"This is an opportunity for a citizen to see what type of training, equipment and experiences our officers go through," said Chief Bill Kerber. "Plus you will get a chance to get to know many of the officers we currently have serving our community."

For more information and details on what to expect from the classes, contact Detective Wayne Lockett at 281-334-5414 or by e-mail at tlockett@kemah-tx.com.
