Friendswood eighth-grader advances to area spelling bee
A local eighth-grader will advance to the Houston Spelling Bee after winning first place in the Galveston competition.
Stephanie Ngo, a Friendswood Junior High eighth-grader, will be competing in the Houston Spelling Bee after winning first place in the Galveston County Spelling Bee on Saturday, Feb. 5.
According to the press release, Ngo was one of two first-place winners in the Galveston competition.
Ngo’s win has qualified her to advance to the Houston Spelling Bee, where she will have the chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip for two to the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
This competition will be broadcast live on Channel 8 on March 26.
