Clear Lake boys and girls wrestling dominate
Several exciting wrestling performances this past weekend occurred at a tournament in Katy.
In an upset, the Clear Brook Boys Wrestling team won the overall award, taking it from Clear Lake, the reigning two-time champs.
The Clear Springs girls won the overall over favorites Clear Falls.
Three boys from Clear Lake each won the District Title in their respective
weight classes: 119-pounds, Thomas Porzillo; 135-pounds, Robert Porzillo; and 145-pounds, James Porzillo.
The Boys MOW (Most Otstanding Wrestler) was Jacob Dolifka from Clear Brook, and the Girls MOW was the undefeated Elaina Dittrich from Clear Springs.
The girls 185-pound champion, Hayley Mitchell, is a four-time District Champion, poised to be the first four-time state qualifier in CCISD history.
