HS girls basketball: Friendswood defeats Manvel
Friendswood defeated Manvel 47-44 in District 24-4A high school girls basketball action on Tuesday.
Manvel jumped out to a big 11-point lead, but couldn’t hold on and watched its perfect district record fall.
The win lets Friendswood end its season on a positive note, upping its record to 16-10 and 10-2 in district play.
Jillian Bergeson had a big game, scoring 23 points to lead her team to the win.
The loss closes Manvel’s season at 16-5 and 10-1 in district play.
Jade Castille scored 14 points in the loss.
