League City seeks work on water facility
The City of League City is seeking bids until Feb. 24 from contractors to help build the Southwest Water Reclamation Facility.
The facility, now under construction, is planned in an area off McFarland Drive behind League City Parkway. Construction is expected to finish in 2012, and contractors are needed to treat the soil, lay pipe, install heating, air conditioning and plumbing, and perform other structural work.
Included in the project is a $50,000 allowance for furniture, minor appliances and lab equipment.
A pre-bid meeting and site tour will be held for contractors on Thursday, Feb. 10, at 3 p.m. at the construction site, 1551 S. Maple Leaf Drive.
The city considers price, value, qualifications, experience and safety record when choosing a bidder.
