Bay Area Christian team captures first place at academic competition

Bay Area Christian School placed first in its division on Jan. 26 when junior high students competed at the annual Academic Quest, held this year at Lutheran High North in Houston.

In total, students from Bay Area Christian nabbed 29 academic awards and seven grade-level achievement awards. Special test topics this year included anatomy, U.S. presidents, mathematical computations, Texas trivia and seashells.

Lutheran High North director Michal Thom presented Bay Area's first place Division One award to students Jackson Bouley, of La Marque, Jonathan Kennedy of Pearland, Paul Williams of Kemah, and Peter Muller and Niki Morris, of League City.

Bay Area Christian School, founded in 1973, teaches students from the suburban southeast Houston area with a Christ-centered curriculum at all grade levels.
