Friendswood City Council to discuss park trails, housing tax credit
The Friendswood City Council will discuss hike-and-bike trails and a
proposed apartment complex for senior citizens, among other issues, during
its regular meeting Monday.
The prospective builder of the apartments, on FM 2351 between Woodlawn and
Garden Drive, is applying for state housing tax credits for the project.
"Part of what that state requires is a resolution of support from the city,
supporting that application," explains Assistant City Manager Nick Haby. The
meeting will include a hearing on that resolution.
The Council will also consider whether to authorize the mayor to apply for
grants on the city's behalf for a system of parks trails. "It's simply to
allow the mayor to execute a grant application for hike and bike trail
funding," Haby says. "It would include trails along the creeks to connect to
city parks."
The Council will meet Monday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 910 S.
Friendswood Drive. View the agenda here.
