Senate signs off on Obama's NASA spending

Lawmakers agreed to hand over all that the president asked for: $4 billion to build cutting-edge spacecraft as part of an $18.7 billion budget.
The Houston Chronicle reports on a budget process that will affect thousands of workers employed by NASA and its contractors in the Clear Lake area:
The Senate voted 71 to 28 for a massive spending bill that would restore $670 million cut from manned space exploration by the House in June. The proposed spending still faces a strong test of wills as the Senate and House try to reach a budgetary compromise.
