Pancreatic cancer network recruiting volunteers, runners
The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 9, for people interested in volunteering.
Those who are interested will help plan fundraising events, raise public awareness, advocate for more federal research funding and reach out to patients and healthcare providers.
The special guest speaker will be Julie Fleshman, president and CEO of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, who will discuss current efforts to put an end to pancreatic cancer and the ways volunteers can make a difference in their communities.
The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. and held at the Houston Apartment Association, located at 4810 Westway Park Blvd.
To RSVP, contact Jennifer Moffett at jmoffett@pancanvolunteer.org or 832-567-3288.
The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is a nationwide network of people dedicated to working together to advance research, support patients and create hope for those affected by pancreatic cancer, the fourth leading cause of cancer death.
