Clear Springs' Richardson signs with Iowa State
Clear Springs HS senior Sam Richardson has signed to play football next season for Iowa State.
The 5-foot, 7-inch, 170-pound defensive back was a first team all-district selection his junior and senior year while also earning second team all-state selection his junior year and honorable mention all-state selection this season.
Richardson compiled 63 tackles, had seven pass deflections, forced two fumbles, and intercepted a pass this year for the Chargers.
He also returned a kickoff for a touchdown against Brazoswood and blocked a punt in the win over Clear Creek .
Richardson who blocked six kicks on the season chose Iowa State over scholarship offers from Air Force and Navy.
