League City details weather-safety preparations
League City officials sent out an announcement Wednesday detailing their
plans for protecting residents this week's severe weather and power outages.
The city says its Public Works Department is monitoring all city bridges and
has four trucks on hand for de-icing the bridges. Local officials and the
Texas Department of Transportation will also work together to keep TXDOT
bridges in the city free of ice, the city says.
The announcement also said the city has "performed freeze protection" on its
water and wastewater facilities, and that the police department has signs it
can use in case power is cut to traffic signals at major intersections.
