Students host Friendswood ISD board member

Local dentist David Montz got a special welcome at Westwood Elementary recently to thank him for his service on the Friendswood school board.

Montz, a 1987 honors graduate of Friendswood High School, stopped by his former elementary school for one of its "Wednesday Warbles," a weekly, all-school gathering, and was treated to breakfast with current students and a tour of the school.

Westwood's invitation to Montz was part of School Board Recognition Month, a celebration of those serving on the Friendswood Independent School District School Board.

Montz joined the board in November 2010 and is serving in Position 7 of the Board of Trustees. He also has served on the district's Facility Advisory Committee, Bond Committee and as the board liaison to the Education Foundation.

Montz currently heads the dental practice in Pearland he opened in 1997. It is now a three-doctor clinic that offers family, cosmetic and implant dentistry.
