3 arrested in heroin investigation
Friendswood police conducting a narcotics investigation in Houston say they caught three people with heroin Wednesday night.
Police said Jeffrey Cross, 24, of Friendswood and Raul Delacruz, 25, of Houston were found to be in possession of more than 5 grams of black tar heroin. Police said Kelsey Gary, 19, of League City was found to be in possession of an eye drop bottle containing liquid heroin.
The arrests came after police observed what they suspected was a drug transaction around 6:35 p.m between the three suspects on Bellfort Avenue in Houston. Friendswood officers stopped the suspects as they left the location.
The trio are familiar to police.
Friendswood police said they previously arrested Cross during a disturbance on Aug. 22. At that time he was also found to be in possession of heroin, police said. From this week's arrest, he faces charges of possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver, and he's being held on a $20,000 bond.
Delacruz was arrested Aug. 18, when Friendswood police said they found him in possession of heroin. He's charged with possession of a controlled substance in that incident, and now he's also charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. He's being held with no bond.
Friendswood police said Gary's criminal history also contains other narcotics arrests by authorities in Galveston County. He's charged with possession of a controlled substance, and he's being held on a $2,000 bond.
All three are presently in the Harris County jail.
