Clear Creek ISD to undergo curriculum audit
Starting the week of Nov. 9, outside experts will begin taking a hard look at Clear Creek's schools in search of areas that need improvement.
A team of certified educator auditors will visit each of the district's schools to observe classrooms, review thousands of pages of curriculum documents, and interview personnel and community members.
The curriculum management audit comes at the request of Superintendent Greg Smith and was approved by the school board. It will be conducted by the American Association of School Administrators.
The audit will focus on curriculum and student achievement, attempting to identify weaknesses that the school district should address. The process is expected to take several months.
Whenever people hear the word audit, it conjures negative feelings, but in actuality this kind of audit is welcomed by high performing school districts like Clear Creek ISD," Smith stated in a news release. The audit will focus on the school system and how we can improve our services to students and stakeholders."
Have something you'd like the instructional auditors to know? Find out how to set up an interview this week.
