Auditions for Webster production to take place Jan. 8
The Royal Academy of Fine Arts (RAFA) will be holding auditions for its spring Broadway Studio Workshop's (BSW) production of "Once Upon a Mattress."
Auditions will take place on Saturday, Jan. 8, at 2 p.m. at RAFA CentrePointe, located at 17170 Mill Forest Road in Webster. Registration will begin at 1:30 p.m.
Students should prepare a standard Broadway show tune for the audition, and bring sheet music marked and in the correct key. They should also be prepared to dance.
Rehearsals will take place on Saturdays, starting Jan. 15, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., through Saturday, March 19. Some actors will be called for occasional Sunday rehearsals. Performances will take place Saturday, March 26, Sunday March 27, Saturday, April 2, and Sunday, April 3, at the Oliver Theatre in RAFA CentrePointe.
The workshop tuition is $300, which will include all script and music materials, as well as costumes and props. Additional siblings are $150.
The BSW is an advanced musical theater program designed for performers focusing on the combined skills of music, theater and dance. BSW provides professional-level training for the more experienced theater student through auditioning, rehearsing and performing popular musical theater pieces.
